It’s a perfect day out today so I’m off to the Assiniboine Park for the free sleigh rides being offered to one and all. With a few stops along the way.
Inside the centre lobby of the pavilion they have this beautiful poinsettia display.
A close up of one of the flowers.
The toboggan hill is open and is fairly busy for being so early in the morning. Later in the afternoon it got very busy.
It’s also a great day for cross country skiing, and a number of skiers were out.
The duck pond is now fully open and had quite a few people out skating.
The sleigh and team of Clydesdale horses are ready and waiting for us.
These horses are such beautiful animals.
A view from the front…
…and a view from the back, on the sleigh.
The Lyric Theater and Pavilion from the sleigh ride.
Inside the duck pond shelter they have a fireplace so you can warm up after skating.
If being outdoors is not your thing then stay inside the duck pond shelter with a friend and play chess.
The sidewalk cleaners were out keeping the walkways clean for everyone.
I decided to pop into the family centre to see the gingerbread house of the family centre that I heard about.
As I was getting ready to leave the park the team of horses passed by kicking up snow as they went.
That’s it for this bonus posting for this week. Hope you enjoyed it and were able to go for a winter sleigh ride in an open sleigh.
