The temperature has vastly improved this week so I’m off to the zoo to take some outdoor photos of some random animals that are also enjoying the warmer weather.
Just incase you are planing a trip to the zoo here are the daily admission prices. They are among the lowest in North America for a major zoo.
The stroller rental prices.
As well as the membership prices.
The stroller rental kiosk.
Blizzard and the rest of the bison were nice and close to the fence today.
The lynx were sitting so nicely just waiting for me to take their picture.
The young cubs Aurora and Kaska were both out enjoying the warmer weather.
Hudson was reminding everyone of the importance of recycling.
Here he is recycling a blue bin as a chew toy.
Some great news according to this sign. There will be less fences and more glass when viewing the polar bears.
A couple of the caribou were clashing antlers. They did not seem to be battling, it looked more like play but was neat to watch.
The badger was taking advantage of the warmer weather to do some housecleaning.
The red pandas were out and exploring their exhibit.
I couldn’t resist stoping to take a few photos of the snowy owls.
While I was taking these photos a squirrel ran by and got the attention of the owls. They all turned their heads and stretched for a better look.
The arctic foxes were out.
I like this photo, I just wish it was a bit clearer. I was playing around with my camera settings when I took this one. I was trying to get the fox in the background without picking up the fence in the foreground.
This one came out a bit nicer.
It was not nearly busy enough to feel crowded but it was nice to see bigger crowds at the zoo today.
Next week if it’s still nice out I plan to visit the sculpture garden. If not we’ll see…
