This week I’m doing something a little different, I’m heading down the Assiniboine River to The Forks where the Red and Assiniboine Rivers meet. This is where the City of Winnipeg every year makes the world’s longest river trail.
Temp +1°C. Yes, we are above freezing for the first time this winter! Feels like 0°C.
A view of the skating trail from the Forks Market.
One of the highlights of the skating trail are these warming huts.
Another look at the warming huts.
They are usually spread out along the trail but the city is bringing them in closer as we are nearing the end of the season.
Another highlight is the hockey rink.
The Winnipeg Jets even had a practice on the outdoor rink this year.
A small portion of the 1.2K skating trail.
It just goes on and on.
I’m not sure why or how with all the cold weather we’ve been having that there could be such a large pool of open water.
Some more warming huts.
A close up of one of my favorites.
Looks like someone got carried away with a highlighter.
Another warming hut.
This is the second largest pair of pants I have ever seen on a river.
This one is a cute and colorful idea.
Have a nice day!
