Concert in the Park

Yesterday the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra gave a free concert at the Lyric Theatre in the park.

We had a major downpour of rain about a 1/2 hour before the concert was to start making the crowd much smaller than expected but all that attended had a great concert and a great time.

Temp 23ºC with dark clouds.

A small crowd about fifteen minutes before the show.

Just before the intermission the rain came back. Thankfully it was just a light shower but the umbrellas came out and my camera was put away.

After the intermission they had an amazing version of Skyfall. Sorry about the shakiness and cutting it too short.

This was fallowed by a tribute to the King, Elvis Presley. The conductor called for all the kids in the audience to come up and dance for this part.

They ended the show explaining that they just came back from New York City and playing Carnegie Hall.

Right after the concert it started to rain again. On the way out I took one last photo of the duck pond at dusk.

The concert was a lot of fun and I’m very glad that I went despite the weather.  The entire show lasted just over 2 hours.

Canada Day is just around the corner so you can expect another post from me soon. Until next time…
